I've got 3 things to say about that: 1)  If you follow the advice in this post, you will have done your research by comparing prices and features and know if the "awesome deal" really is one or not. 2) Sales 101 teaches dealers that one of the tricks of selling is to create a sense of urgency. This is why infomercials always say, "Act now, supplies are limited!" Or give you some tchotchke for being one of the first 500 callers.  The salesman's pitch has been carefully constructed to get you to buy now, because he knows once you leave, and think about the purchase, you probably won't come back. 3) You reminded me of my favorite Geico commercial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWj6fh-IJ5Q Good point, Matt.
